Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bangladeshi extremist groups have issued threats claiming they can capture Kolkata within four days and have the capability to invade the United States. These claims have sparked reactions from Indian defense officials and analysts, who have highlighted the security and preparedness of India’s forces.
Former National Security Guard (NSG) Chief Deepanjan Chakraborty directly addressed the threats, stating, “If they dare step even one foot into India, they will be buried on Indian soil.” He emphasized the operational readiness of India’s security forces and their ability to handle any attempted incursions at the border.
The statements have coincided with growing concerns over extremist activities in Bangladesh, with speculation about potential links to international militant organizations or the influence of external forces. Cross-border security between India and Bangladesh has been a recurring focus, with both nations working to address challenges such as smuggling, illegal migration, and militant activity.
Chakraborty also pointed out the reliance of Bangladeshi individuals on Indian-made medical devices, such as pacemakers, to underline the interconnectedness between the two nations. He referenced examples like the aftermath of 9/11 to caution against the long-term risks of allowing extremist ideologies to gain traction. Security forces on both sides of the border continue to monitor developments closely.
